Story Spread

This is our favourite go-to spread for quick and straightforward insights to a set question. Don't be deceived by the simplicity though, as we find it can be quite punchy yet profound! 

You can choose whether you wish to select a theme card, to use as a significator, or deal straight from your shuffled deck and leave it open for the cards to show you what the main theme is.

Shuffle and prepare your cards in the usual way then lay them out with the theme card at the top. The following three cards are laid underneath, from left to right, and form a flowing narrative for the progression of events, moving from the present into the future.

The theme card is the main situation or surrounding influence at the moment, so each card following is moving slightly further forward in a timeline, but sometimes you'll find that the cards read clearly as a sentence. The final card always has the last say though, so the only thing to watch is that you read the cards in the order they were laid down and not back over yourself.
